Continuing our drive north through Brighton, over the Ted Smout Memorial Bridge (named to honour a WW1 veteran from Sandgate), around Woody Point we stopped at Redcliffe.
The Bee Gees lived for a while in Redcliffe in their youth. It is where their first management contract was signed, by their parents – they being minors, on 16.March 1959. A copy of the some of the document is on display at a tribute walk in Redcliffe. Barry Gibb contributed to the display and their music is heard as one wanders along the walk. An interesting snapshot of their history and connection with Redcliffe and time spent down by the Pier.
