From where the ferry docks at Watsons Bay, through Robertson Park and directly east, is “The Gap”, an area notorious for the sad demise of many who have jumped, fallen or been pushed over its edge. The area is now fenced along the walkway with security cameras present and Lifeline signs. The scenery here is magnificent. Looking over the edge at the drop to rocks below, it is sad to imagine how anyone would choose to make this their final journey.
Nearby is the Dunbar Memorial Lookout, memorial to more souls lost:
Following the walk along the cliffs north of The Gap, more spectacular views of The Gap and nearby cliffs. It seemed unusual to see wattle growing so close to the ocean.
