Close to where Mike is working at Sydney RV Group, I visited Emu Craft Markets, held on the second Saturday each month, at the Nepean Creative & Performing Arts High School at Emu Plains. Inside a hall there, many good stands of crafted goods and at one stall, a selection of yummy home made biscuits that could not be resisted.
Next, the Fair Trade Bazaar at Glenbrook Hall. An interesting collection of stalls selling a variety of “fair and ethically made goods” – food, toys, clothing, jewellery etc.
Glenbrook is in the lower Blue Mountains. Unfortunately the tourist centre was still under renovation as I believe it is a very good one normally to visit. Wandering around the village, it is obvious the strong community bond that exists here. Across from the large playground and park area is Park Street and on the corner of Ross Street, is “Con’s Continental Deli”, one of the best Continental stores I’ve seen! The food on offer was amazing! I was also surprised by the number of bakery/cake and coffee shops – all busy – for the size of the village. A very social village!
