Another short walk! From Bathers Beach, up some steps and we arrive at another view of the Indian Ocean, more art sculptures and the Heritage Listed Roundhouse.
The Roundhouse opened 18 months after settlement in January 1831, the first gaol and oldest public building in Western Australia.
Outside The Roundhouse:
When we arrived at Fremantle and were driving past the Town Hall in the centre of the City, we noticed it’s spire had been painted with two bands of yellow and could not work out WHY? We were not impressed. On arriving at The Roundhouse and turning to view High Street below, we got the answer: “Arcs d’Éllipses”. The Town Hall spire is just visible at the top of the photo.
